Bond
What it is
Read your companion’s Bond score and relationship in Pet Details. Each pet keeps its own score, including when you withdraw it.
Active play does not currently increase bond automatically. The relationship display can therefore remain unchanged while you train a pet. Inactive bond can decrease when the collection loads after joining. Bond labels are readable progression information, but their listed tier multipliers do not currently increase pet effects. Do not expect a higher label to improve ability damage or matching-skill XP.
Quick facts
- Stranger: 0 to 19 Bond.
- Acquaintance: 20 to 39 Bond.
- Companion: 40 to 59 Bond.
- Trusted: 60 to 79 Bond.
- Devoted: 80 to 94 Bond.
- Soulbound: 95 to 100 Bond.
- Inactive loss: 0.5 Bond per hour.
- Passive Bond growth: unavailable.
How to start
Open Your Pets, shift-right-click the companion and read Bond in Pet Details. Use the exact bond score when comparing it with the table. Whole-number tier boundaries are inclusive. Values between a tier's maximum and the next tier's minimum fall back to Stranger instead of rounding upward or retaining the previous relationship label.
For example, a value greater than the Stranger maximum but lower than the Acquaintance minimum is still labeled Stranger. The same fallback applies in every gap between adjacent ranges. This is an actual label rule. A temporary lower label in a gap does not prove that your pet lost all of its bond score.
Steps
- Open Pet Hub > Your Pets and inspect the intended companion through Pet Details.
- Read the bond score and relationship label together.
- Compare the exact value with the inclusive ranges in the table.
- If the value lies in a fractional gap, use Stranger as the relationship result.
- After inactivity and a later join, check the value again before comparing it with an earlier screenshot.
- Use level, rarity and ability requirements for gameplay planning. Do not count bond multipliers as active combat bonuses.

What can go wrong
There is no player coin payment that buys bond through the Bond display. The display is informational. Clicking it does not start training, purchase a tier or turn the listed multipliers into active effects. Buying a skin or permanent attachment also does not alter the relationship value.
Do not spend time repeatedly performing an action solely to force passive bond growth. Active time is not currently advancing it. If a relationship label looks unexpectedly low, read the value and check a fractional gap first. If the value itself decreased after inactivity, that is different from a label fallback.
Worked example
Pebble Whelp at exactly 39 Bond displays Acquaintance. Above that score but below 40, it displays Stranger. At the Companion minimum, it displays Companion.
Inactive pets lose 0.5 Bond per elapsed hour when you return to them. Check the refreshed score before comparing it with the ranges.
More to know
The relationship belongs to the individual pet rather than every pet of the same species. Duplicate species can therefore have different bond values. EXP Share trains selected pets' XP and does not create passive bond gain. A nickname or favorite indicator does not share the relationship between duplicates.
Keeping a pet active does not increase Bond. The tier multipliers do not strengthen pet effects. The tier table describes your relationship. These multipliers do not amplify your stats. Your active family-skill support continues to follow its own rarity-and-level formula.
Inactive decrease skips active pets. Its calculation uses the pet's last-active record when inactive collection data is loaded. You do not need to keep a menu open to see a continuously ticking decrease. Checking the same session's menu is different from loading the pet again after a period of inactivity.
Your questions
Why does active training not raise bond?
Automatic active-time bond growth is not currently running.
Why is a value between tiers Stranger?
The exact value matches no inclusive tier range, so the relationship falls back to Stranger.
Do tier multipliers increase ability damage?
No. The pet effect path does not apply these listed bond multipliers.
Can EXP Share improve bond?
It awards pet XP to selected idle companions, not bond growth.
Does a nickname reset bond?
No. Nickname changes do not change the relationship score.
Why did bond decrease after joining?
Inactive pet data can receive the elapsed inactivity decrease when it loads.
