Eggs

What it is

Read the instructions on your egg before opening it. Signed family eggs need a physical incubator and a baby growth stage.

There are distinct egg interactions. Signed family eggs use physical incubators, then baby growth. Older older pet eggs use hand hatching. Egg Hatchery is a help screen. Clicking its display does not consume every egg type or skip incubation. Read the carried egg instructions and use the correct route.

How to start

Earn eggs through skill milestones, Power Level, eligible Super Ability jackpots, login streaks, wild nests, trader offers, raids or breeding. Rewards and purchases generally go to Pet Delivery first. Collect the egg with an empty inventory slot before attempting incubation or hand hatching.

For a signed family egg, find a supported family biome and use your incubator's insertion controls. For an older hand-hatched egg, hold it in your main hand and right-click as instructed. An egg cannot be placed as decoration. A physical withdrawn pet head is also not an egg. It redeems the recorded companion instead of rolling a new hatch.

Steps

  1. Collect the earned or purchased egg from Pet Delivery.
  2. Read the family and opening instructions on the carried item.
  3. For a signed family egg, use the matching physical incubator route and let incubation finish.
  4. Follow baby growth and feeding instructions, then collect the completed pet.
  5. For an older hand-hatched egg, right-click it in your main hand and wait for the reveal.
  6. Open Your Pets and inspect the actual hatched rarity, species, gender and abilities before activating it.

What can go wrong

A family egg cannot be inserted into an incompatible incubator situation. Follow the incubator's biome, ownership, range and free-slot messages. A missing or invalid egg is rejected. If the chosen family has no valid pet species, it cannot produce a pet simply because the egg has a familiar texture.

An older hand-hatched egg can fail when its pool contains no usable pet entries. Repeated hand interactions also meet the hatch cooldown. Do not repeatedly use a valuable egg after a failure message. Check what remains in your inventory and ask for assistance if the hatch failed after consumption. The ordinary legacy listener consumes the egg before its delayed hatch operation.

Worked example

An ordinary Terravore Egg can hatch Common at 80%, Uncommon at 15%, Rare at 4% or Epic at 1%.

A raid placement egg allows Common, Uncommon and Rare. Its chances are recalculated across those rarities. A participation egg hatches Common only.

Pebble Whelp is a Common base species in Terravore. Hatch rarity is chosen separately, so always read the new pet’s displayed rarity.

More to know

Family pools and Mystery Egg pools exclude hybrid species from ordinary base-family selection. Breeding is the separate route to hybrid families. A Mystery Egg does not mean every rarity or every hybrid is equally available. Enabled families and usable entries determine the valid pool.

The global hatch ceiling remains Epic even for egg rewards with stronger-sounding names. Legendary and Mythic are progression paths for pets after hatching. Breeding's displayed rarity comparison also does not lock the signed egg's final rarity. Incubation performs the hatch roll. Do not spend resources on the assumption that a parent's rarity guarantees its offspring's hatch rarity.

Your questions

Can an egg hatch Legendary or Mythic?

No. The global hatch ceiling is Epic. Later rarity paths upgrade the pet.

Can I right-click every egg to hatch it?

No. Signed family eggs use physical incubators. Older available eggs follow their hand-hatch instructions.

Does breeding fix hatch rarity?

No. The signed egg rolls its final rarity during incubation.

Why is a participation egg Common?

That reward's hatch ceiling is Common.

Does a Mystery Egg include hybrids?

Ordinary base-family Mystery Egg selection excludes hybrid families and species.

Why must I wait between hand hatches?

Older hand-hatched egg interactions have the cooldown shown in the table.
