Breeding, Twins and Lineage
What it is
Choose an eligible female and male in Breeding Den to make a family egg. Check both parents before spending a breeding use.
An egg carries family and lineage into incubation. Its current rarity is selected when it actually hatches. Parent rarity and the breeding history result do not guarantee the hatch rarity. Hatch outcomes are Common, Uncommon, Rare, or Epic. Plan breeding around family access, parent availability, twins, and lineage rather than promising a Legendary baby from Legendary parents.

Pictures show a captured example. Your pets, rewards and timers can change.
How to start
Open /pets → Breeding Den, or use /pets breed. The left parent selector is Mother and the right is Father. Pick pets from your collection through those selectors. Do not drag pet items into the menu. Both pets must be yours, idle, unlocked, old enough in levels, outside cooldown, and below their lifetime breed limit.
Deactivate a summoned parent before returning to the den. Read the displayed remaining breeds and cooldown for each parent. Pairing with a different family is allowed, but it changes the egg family to a hybrid. Keep a suitable incubator habitat ready: a hybrid egg can use either parent family’s effective habitat.
Steps
The den separates parent selection from final confirmation so you can check the pairing before using lifetime breeds.
- Open Breeding Den and choose the female in Mother.
- Choose the male in Father, then read both parent requirements.
- Inspect the egg preview for same-family or hybrid-family output.
- Open the confirmation screen and confirm the eligible pair.
- Collect the produced egg or twins through Pet Delivery.
- Insert each egg into a matching-biome incubator and let it hatch.
- Open Breeding History when you want to see the recorded parents and lineage result.
Reference
The breeding roll recorded in history does not fix the eventual hatch rarity. Incubation performs the actual rarity selection independently. The generation bonus modifies the breeding roll, so it must not be described as a promised improvement to the baby’s hatch rarity.
| Rule | Amount or requirement |
|---|---|
| Parents per pairing | 2 pets |
| Minimum parent level | 1 level |
| Lifetime breeding allowance | 3 pairings |
| Parent cooldown | 12 hours |
| Normal output | 1 egg |
| Purebred twin chance | 10% |
| Child generation increase | 1 generation |
| Higher-parent history roll | 25% |
| Above-higher history roll | 5% |
| Generation reroll threshold | 3 generation |
When pairing fails
The den rejects a missing parent, using the same pet twice, pets owned by someone else, incompatible genders, an active parent, or a locked parent. It also rejects exhausted lifetime breeds, unfinished cooldowns, and insufficient levels. Correct the specific parent condition before trying again. Selecting a different menu page does not clear a pet’s cooldown or replenish lifetime breeds.
A pairing already being processed cannot be started again. Reopen the den after completion and inspect Pet Delivery. If a family is unavailable or no longer valid, the pair cannot produce a useful family egg. The breeding requirements do not charge a listed coin fee. Your main costs are the parents’ limited breeding opportunities and cooldown time.
Worked example
Use your own eligible Pebble Whelp as the Terravore parent in this example.
Choose a female and male of the same family, each at least level 1, with unused breeding opportunities. A successful pairing normally gives 1 family egg. The purebred twin check uses 10%, and a successful twin result adds another separate egg. Each parent spends a breed and begins 12 hours of cooldown regardless of whether twins appear.
For generation, take the higher parent generation and add 1. The egg keeps that lineage through the nursery. When the eggs hatch, they roll their rarities independently through the incubation rules. Twins are separate eggs rather than a guarantee of identical current rarity.
Limits and rules
A hybrid pairing does not receive the purebred twin branch. Same-family parents are therefore the path for twins, while different families are the path for hybrid family identity. The higher parent generation controls the next generation, rather than adding both generations together.
The breeding history rarity roll is capped below Mythic even when a maximum is set higher. That history result is distinct from hatching, whose allowed rarities stop at Epic. The generation reroll keeps the better recorded breeding result when enabled and the threshold is met. It does not attach a guaranteed rarity to the egg item. Adult collection and activation still follow the normal nursery and delivery steps.
For the recorded breeding roll, the above-higher branch moves above the higher parent rarity, the higher branch keeps that higher parent rarity, and the remaining share uses the lower parent rarity. The breeding cap then applies. Egg hatching still makes its separate capped rarity roll later.
Your questions
Do I lose the parents?
No. Parents remain yours, with their breed counts and cooldown updated.
Why is my selected pet unavailable?
It can be active, locked, on cooldown, too low in level, or out of lifetime breeds.
Can I use the same pet in both parent slots?
No. The pair must contain distinct compatible female and male pets.
Can different families breed?
Yes. Their output is a hybrid-family egg.
Why did a hybrid pairing not make twins?
The twin branch is restricted to same-family pairings.
Does a Legendary history result guarantee a Legendary hatch?
No. The incubator rolls actual hatch rarity separately, and eggs hatch only through Epic.
Which habitat and feed does a hybrid need?
Either parent family’s effective habitat and either parent family’s feed are accepted.
Generation comparison rules
The generation comparison bonus is enabled. Its keep-the-better reroll rule is enabled. The breeding comparison ceiling is LEGENDARY. This comparison is recorded for the breeding result. The egg still rolls hatch rarity during incubation.
